THE INSPIRATION

ABI

Abi, Abigail, Noobug, Terrorist (who we love very much), is the daughter of Sheldon and Shona: also who we named the restaurant after and the reason we wake up at 5h54 every morning.

At 2 years old, she is a gem of a human being, loves milkshakes, handing out “shap” and thumbs up, playing in the water fountains and walking around like she owns the place!

The previous restaurant was the place where Shona and Sheldon ‘broke’ the news of the new addition [Abi] to their parents. Strange how the universe has led them to opening up a coffee shop/ wine bar/ restaurant, called Abi’z, after Abigail in the same space.

SHONA

Often asked if she is Abi, but no, Shona is Abi’s mum. A busy body, and a real home bred soul, with a great love for people, their happiness and making sure their wine glass is always full. Family is by far the most important thing in her life, and wants to share the restaurant with everyone who walks through the door. Congrats to you – if you have sat down and had something to eat, drink or both, you are now part of the furniture and always welcome in her books!

Shona also have a deep love for the outdoors, gardening and travel. Some of the pictures that you will find dotted around the restaurant, are her very own images; each one with a little story about her life with her family.

THE INSPIRATION

SHELDON

The coffee snob, avid squash player and most intense Chelsea Football fan, with an intense passion for fairness, equality, and seeing people succeed! Husband and daddy roles have kept him on his toes the last couple of years which may be a reason for the receding hairline (don’t tell him we said that!)

Sheldon is a George boy, who has indeed adapted the Joburg culture [howzit!]… He too has a love for travel and one day (when he has made his millions) has the intention to be the jet-setting kind, visiting every corner of the world, from the US to Europe.
